Come Celebrate Maple: The OFFICIAL Flavor of Vermont! (On April 24, at the 38th Vermont Maple Festival, Act H868 was signed into law making Maple the Official Flavor of Vermont.)
In April, when sugaring season’s over, it’s time for Maple Fun and Festivities! For the third year in a row, the Festival has been named a Vermont Chamber of Commerce Top Ten Summer Event. There’s Something for Everyone much cost free check the website www.vtmaplefestival.org. Visitors enjoy Sugarhouse Tours, an Exhibit Hall, Maple Specialty Foods, a Maple Buffet Supper, Entertainment, Pancake Breakfasts, Crafts and Antiques Shows, Youth Talent and Fiddlers’ Shows, a Historical Museum, Carnival, Face painting, a Grand Parade, Sap Run Footrace, a Pretty Park for Playing and Picnicking, and a Downtown of Delightful Shops!
Sugarmakers work hard during the six to eight weeks of the maple sugaring season. At the end of April we celebrate the new crop! It’s the Grand Finale of the Maple Season, and it’s time to party - have good maple fun with family, friends and guests. An estimated 30,000 - 50,000 people visit during the three day Festival. Then, just as in nature, the cycle begins again - we are all volunteers who make this event happen, so planning for next year’s Maple Festival starts as soon as this year’s is over!
