Take a walk downtown and enjoy the Merchants Window Displays as they show their support and spirit for Vermont Maple. Winners will be chosen by our hand-selected judges and announced on Thursday April 27th to the Businesses and at the opening Ceremony on April 28th at 12 Noon.

How are windows judged?

Stores are asked to have their windows decorated so voting may begin by April 21st. Judges will make their choices by Wednesday April 26th and the winner will be notified on Thursday April 27th. They will judge the windows on 3 aspects:

  1. best representation of the Vermont Maple Festival theme: “Maple – The Heart of Vermont”

  2. creativity & uniqueness

  3. appearance

Come see some of the decorated windows.

Take a stroll downtown and enjoy a feast for the eyes! Windows of the participating shops in downtown St. Albans will be decorated with maple scenes, each trying to outdo the other to capture the honor of being named the business with the best maple theme display and

support the local businesses by VOTING April 21 – April 30 for your favorite window to help the business receive

“The People’s Choice Award”

2022 Winners

First Place

Eaton's Fine Jewelry

Their display incorporated trees tapped with glittering chains and rings, and artfully used log slices and maple references.

Second Place

Outerknown/Project Vermont

Their inaugural display featured denim "syrup" cascading from a boiler, cotton ball steam and signage that mirrored the makerspace mission: "Tap into Change."

Third Place & VT Maple Festival People's Choice Award

Rail City Salon

Their display included dripping "syrup" and a host of historical references to the syrup industry in Vermont.
